Values & Experience
Housing That Makes Sense
Campbell has a responsibility to leave no stone unturned in its search for suitable sites for housing development. While California has narrowed the role that cities can play in development decisions, Campbell can still use the tools at its disposal to welcome new residents while respecting our current residents.
Maintaining and Celebrating Our Outstanding Public Services
Campbell has a strong public safety component, but our community offerings are so much greater than just our police force. Robust community center programming, “pay what you can” lunches for seniors, and our parks are all hallmarks of what makes Campbell unique. I am committed to making sure we pursue aggressive ways to maintain these services and secure funding for projects like a new aquatics center.
Champion for Local Businesses
Like with housing, I believe Campbell needs to find its “yes” when it comes to planning. Streamlined permit processing and mild relaxing of our strict ordinances for things like outdoor seating will help businesses better succeed in an uncertain economy.
Planning for the Transportation + Environmental Needs of the Future
Car-alternative options and the infrastructure to support them are a must. Steps like wider, better protected bike lanes, increasing our tree canopy, and encouraging drought-tolerant landscaping could help create safer, cooler streets. Campbell’s Climate Action & Adaptation Plan is a good start, but it could go further.
No New Taxes
Campbell already has the highest sales tax rate in the county. We should seek to stabilize and increase our revenue base by encouraging responsible development and making it easier to do business in the city. We must attract more wallets to the city and keep Campbell dollars in Campbell.
Campbell's Youth
We must better invest in the generations who will inherit the city. Keeping our younger residents in mind when planning public spaces and events, promoting safer and more bike- and pedestrian-friendly streets, and restarting our Leadership Campbell program are just a few ways that we can show our support for our youth.
